The Boston Bruins still have some serious questions marks regarding two top prospects in Fabian Lysell and Georgii Merkulov which is why they have been playing so much in the pre season.
Many believe that Lysell could be the answer to replacing Jake DeBrusk on the wing this season but is far from a lock as both Captain Brad Marchand and head coach Jim Montgomery has both stated he will need to show a lot more if he is going to make this team.
While Lysell is still on the bubble, Matt Poitras has been getting playing time as a center and winger which means he could end up taking that second line spot from Lysell if he does not start to play better.
Lysell and Merkulov, who both struggled in the first preseason game, bounced back and played well in the second one. They weren't in the lineup for the third one.
It'll be interesting to see where Matt Poitras lines up. He's spent time at both center and right wing as the Bruins are giving him a long look to see where his best fit might be if he makes the team.
Merkulov has been playing a bit better but as the Bruins are stacked when it comes to centerman, it makes his life that much harder as he will need to bump someone out if he plans on making the team.
