it was reported today that Linus Ullmark's former partner and backup Dustin Tokarski has signed a PTO (professional try out) with the Ottawa Senators.
It already seems like their chemistry is back to full as they are seen practicing and playing games with one another on the ice at their first practice with the Ottawa Senators.
Unfortunately, the 35-year-old netminder did not play a single game in the NHL last season, but appeared in 24 games for the Rochester Americans where he achieved an 11-9-3 win/loss/tie record, supporting a 3.32 goals against average and a less than stellar .890 save percentage (S%). The last time he played in the NHL was during the 2022-2023 season where he only played 4 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins before playing out the rest of the year with the Penguins AH:L affiliate the Wilks-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
With Tokarski joining the Senators, they now have five goalies all fighting for the backup position, and it is up to Anton Forsberg, Leevi Merilainen, Michael Simpson, Mads Sogaard, and Dustin Tokarski to prove who has what it takes during their preseason games.
