The Boston Bruins signed Lindholm to a 7-year , $54,250,000 contract including a $18,500,000 signing bonus in hopes that he could be the answer to the B's problem at first-line center. Lindholm has been out of the Bruins roster since he went down with an undisclosed injury on the first days of training camp.
Lindholm finally was cleared to play and got his first taste of preseason action last night (Oct. 1st) against the Philadelphia Flyers. Although he did not record any points, the little things and his 2-way game stood out to head coach Jim Montgomery. Lindholm had two shots on goal and played 15:31 in his Bruins debut and stood out in the faceoff circle.
Lindholm has solidified himself as one of the game best 200 foot forwards, playing a 2-way game that is often overlooked when the offensive aspects start to dwindle. Entering the season he has a good chance at winning the Selke trophy for the leagues best defensive forward, which Bergeron won 6-times.
Will Lindholm live up to Patrice Bergeron's reputation in Boston?
