The Boston Bruins took on the Philadelphia Flyers for their fifth game of the pre season of traning camp as they get ready for the season.

As the roster continues to narrow down, the Bruins players did a lot of good things on the ice last night.

One great thing was that Morgan Geekie prove that he could easily jump into a second line spot with Brad Marchand and Charlie Coyle as the Bruins are still looking for to replace Jake DeBrusk.

Morgan Geekie got the first shot and was highly effective. The speedy winger added hustle and a persistent push from his opening shift. He continued to buzz the Philly net in the closing moments of the stanza, with another great look, feeding off the playmaking of Coyle.

«I though Geekie was really good in the first period,» said Bruins coach Jim Montgomery. «I thought that line was good, and it was good to see Charlie Coyle out there. He was playing poised, and he looked good.»

Captain Brad Marchand played in his first game of the pre season with the Bruins last night but it only lasted 1 period as he had to leave with an undisclosed illness.

Another bright spot from the game was goaltender Brandon Bussi's performance as he made 13 saves letting in only 1 goal.

After a tough go in the Big Apple last week, Bruins goaltender Brandon Bussi bounced back to fend off the Flyers.

The Bruins goaltender made 13 saves in the victory.

Holding a 1-0 lead, the 6-foot-4, 218-pound southpaw netminder surrendered the game-tying goal off a rebound to Travis Konecny

Bussi will likely have the backup job to start the year since the Bruins have yet to figure out the Jeremy Swayman contract issues yet.
