It was announced that Evander Kane will undergo surgery to repair a painful sports hernia that will keep him out of the lineup until 2025, which has left a major cap in the Oilers lineup. It is clear that the Edmonton oilers are going to need to find a solution to that problem and find some help elsewhere, whether that is from a young prospect or making a big trade.
This leaves a door open for a team like the Boston Bruins to step in and make a big move to land Kane when he is ready for the 2nd half of the season. One Bruins player comes to mind that could be both a good fit for the Oilers and B's. Charlie Coyle plays on the 3rd and 2nd line for the B's and proves he can play physical and put the puck in the back of the net. He had a career high season with the Bruins where he accumulated 25 goals and 35 assists for 60 points.
Evander Kane on the other hand, has not had a season like that in his career but is a proven high 20's and 30 goal scorer in the NHL while adding that physical edge to any lineup.
Obviously Coyle is a big piece to the Bruins success offensively and defensively, but with both players carrying a similar cap hit, this could be a big trade that could benefit both teams.
