Pen was put to paper on a 2-way 1-year/$800K contract where he will serve as a Calgary depth and veteran d-man who can hit and fight with the rest of the heavyweights in the NHL.
Now 32, Tinordi spent last season playing for the Chicago Blackhawks protecting stars like Connor Bedard. The 6-foot-6 d-man scored 0 goals, 9 assists, had 94 blocks, and accumulated 171 hits in just 52 games.
In his time with the Bruins, he had 1 assist and 44 hits in 13 games after being claimed off waivers. He also appeared in 4 playoff games for the Bruins, where he did not make much of an impact scoring no points and racking up 5 penalty minutes.
It will be interesting to see if he can stick in the NHL as he is on a 2-way deal, but nonetheless, one thing is for sure, he will make an impact in the hitting department.
