In a big surge of roster cuts from around the NHL, two former Boston Bruins players have been cut from their teams as they were placed on waivers.

Former player Connor Carrick and Reilly Walsh were both cut from their respective teams yesterday when they seemed to have good chances of cracking the lineup. Defenseman Connor Carrick was placed on waivers by the Edmonton Oilers after he signed a 1-year, 2-way contract this offseason.

Last season he played the full season with the Coachella Firebirds of the AHL where he had solid season putting up good offensive numbers. He scored 9 goals and 25 assists for 34 points with a plus/minus rating of +12. He will heading back down to the AHL to start the NHL season, but if he puts up those same numbers, he will be heading back to the NHL in no-time.

25-year-old Reilly Walsh has only played 1 game in the NHL, where he spent the rest of his 4-year professional career in the American Hockey League. He played the entire 2023-2024 season with the Providence Bruins where he put up 9 goals and 19 assists for 28 points and a plus/minus rating of -17. His solid season earned him a contract with Los Angeles Kings on a 1-year, 2-way contract, but now he will be reporting back to the AHL.
