Crosby has a history of taking home town discounts in order to stay a Penguin for life, but more importantly to give the team every opportunity to sign more players and to compete for a Stanley Cup every year. We all know Crosby is worth way more than what he makes but it just goes to show that money isn't everything and he will be making another $8.7 million for the next 2-years.
We are all for players to book their deals and set the, up for life but Jeremy Swayman is asking for too much too soon and it is causing issues for the team and can even set them back down the road. There is no reason why he should not jump at the opportunity to take a $7-8 million AAV but it seems he thinks way to much of himself.
We hope Crosby's actions can send a message to him and get this deal done.
