Patrick Maroon has been with the Boston Bruins since March of last season and was unable to play with the team due to a back injury until one of the last games of the season. Maroon brought veteran knowledge to the team despite not being able to play as much as he may have intended.

The Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney made it clear that Maroon's return next season would be dependant upon his health and well-being.

Maroon did make it clear that he did in fact want to continue to play for Boston should an offer be extended. However, an unnamed Bruins NHL insider has disclosed that Johnny Beecher could be substituting for Maroon next season.

Although Beecher may be with the Bruins at the start of next season, Boston has made it clear that it will not be for the entire duration of the 2024-2025 season.

" Probably not, at least at this point, no. Beecher should open up the season as their fourth-line anchor thanks to his size, speed, range and agility down the middle. His production moving forward is probably more like 10G-10A-20PTS+ and there's nothing wrong with that." -NHL Bruins

Despite this, Beecher seems like someone who would fit Boston nicely and vice versa. Hopefully the Bruins will be able to get a more permanent replacement soon.
