Many fans believed that it would be prospect Fabian Lysell that would take his spot despite not being called up once last season during a dominant year in the AHL with the Providence Bruins.
Bruins Head coach Jim Montgomery spoke to reporters on Lysell yesterday but did not deliver great news stating that Lysell will need to do a lot more if he plans on making this team. This is definitely a massive wake up call for the young forward as it is up to him to prove that he belongs on this team and could be a top 6 forward.
Clearly Montgomery was not pleased with the level of effort he has seen so far from the young prospect and expects him to deliver more especially after the year he has in the AHL.
The main concern with Lysell seems to be his defensive game which apparently was why he did not get called up last year as the Bruins felt he needed to develop more before getting the call.
