As the Boston Bruins prepare to face off against the Los Angeles Kings tonight (Oct 3rd) in their 5th preseason game, head coach Jim Montgomery has announced Matthew Poitras will be out with an injury.

Jim Montgomery says Matt Poitras is day-today and Brad Marchand is still recovering from his illness.

The Bruins will be taking on the kings in Quebec City due to the Kings holding a portion of their training camp for a second straight season away from L.A. There is ongoing construction taking place at Crypto.com Arena and is not yet ready to be used.

The game will feature some big names for the 2nd time in a row featuring David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, Elias Lindholm, Nikita Zadorov, Pavel Zacha, and Charlie Coyle, but they will be with out their 1st line hopeful Matthew Poitras.

It has not been disclosed what the injury or even the extent of the injury is, but Montgomery did reassure that it is nothing major and he is just taking it day-by-day. Nonetheless, the season is only a few days away, and if Poitras is not ready to go by then it could be a major loss for the team to start the season. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery and is slotting back in the lineup for next game.
