Dowd has played in the NHL since 2016 and although he has never been a superstar when it comes to goal scoring and offensive production, he has remained a reliable two-way player throughout his career and is considered by some to be a top 10 defensive forward in the league. At 6-foot-1 and 190+ pounds, Dowd brings a physical presence to the ice that could really benefit the Bruins as the tougher style of hockey picks up towards the end of the regular season and into the postseason.
Early reports have said that a trade for Dowd could cost as much as a first round draft pick, but his market value could drop as the trade deadline approaches.
