It was just reported by the Boston Bruins on X (formally Twitter) that Marchand has been removed from the game due to an illness. They have not disclosed the extent of what he is dealing with just yet, but they did confirm it is very unlikely he will NOT return to the game.
The excitement for Marchand to finally get some playing time before the regular season commences on October 8th was in full effect as he was just cleared earlier today to return to full contact, but of course how things go, it was short lived.
Marchand missed one shift at the end of the first period against the Philadelphia Flyers and concern mounted on social media instantly, but as the period came to a close, there was no word on why. When the 2nd period began, fans and analysts noticed instantly that he was missing from the bench, we got quickly notified he is dealing with an illness and is questionable to return to action...
Hopefully it is nothing serious and is nothing related to any of the injuries and surgeries he has been dealing with all offseason, the Bruins need Marchand more than ever.
