The main trade target for the Boston Bruins has just singed back with the Carolina Hurricanes for a 2-year, $13 Million dollar contract, putting a halt in their plans to acquire the star forward.

At the start for the NHL offseason, there was a lot of chatter that the Boston Bruins were extremely interested in landing Martin Necas, and it became a lot more apparent after the team lost winger Jake DeBrusk to free agency.
The Bruins opted to go on a different path and prioritized signing two players from the Vancouver Canucks. They Signed Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov before reaching out for a trade for Necas.

Even after the dust settled, their interest was still high in the star but ultimately lost out on getting him when he signed his contract yesterday back with the Hurricanes.
