Police release blood alcohol level of driver responsible for tragic death of the Gaudreau brothers

The police have confirmed today that Sean Higgins, the driver who is responsible fore the death of the Gaudreau brothers had a blood alcohol level of .087.

The hockey community has been waiting for more information about Higgins and if he was in fact drunk at the time he struck Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. It has now been confirmed that he had an illegal limit of alcohol, in his system reading .087.

Prosecutor Jonathan Flynn said Higgins had been driving at a "high rate of speed" behind two vehicles. The drivers of those two vehicles both told investigators they were driving about 55 mph, above the posted speed limit of 50 mph on the road where the crash occurred.


He himself did confirm at the scene he had been drinking that night, he admitted to the police that he had 5 or 6 beers but it was still unsure if he was above the lgel limit, but it is now confirmed.
