As every hockey fan knows, the Boston Bruins crushed the regular season, setting an NHL record for single-season wins (65) and points (135), alongside a slew of other achievements.
Nevertheless, Panthers' defenseman Radko Gudas openly shared his belief that his team is far from afraid when it comes to facing one of the best teams in history:
Building on what Gudas said, it's worth noting that Florida was one of only 12 teams to deal the Bruins a regular season defeat this year. Moreover, they were one of just two teams to claim victory over the Bruins twice the other being the Ottawa Senators.
This track record has given Gudas and his teammates a healthy dose of confidence going into game one:
The 2019 Tampa Bay Lightning can attest to this, having tied the previous single-season wins record of 62 at that time. Yet, they were shockingly swept in the first round by the 16th-seeded Columbus Blue Jackets, which marked the franchise's inaugural postseason series triumph.
The odds may not be stacked in favor of Gudas and the Panthers, but as the saying goes, "Anything can happen in the playoffs!"
