Fans are urging the NHL to rename the Lady Bing Trophy after Johnny Gaudreau after JFresh of EPRinkside suggested the idea.
The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, formerly known as the Lady Byng Trophy, is presented each year to the National Hockey League "player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.
Johnny Gaudreau won the Lady Bing back in 2017 for accumulating the least amount of penalty minutes and for being a a perfect display of sportsmanship on and off the ice.
It would be a major honor and display of respect to rename with trophy after Gaudreau who exemplified everything there is to when it comes to being a leader and good person. NHL fans have been urging and calling for a change on X (formally Twitter) ever since Jfresh suggested it.
