Legendary NHL enforcer Donald Brashear hits all-time low
Through the early 90's and mid 2000's, Donald Brashear was a household name, not for his offensive ability, but for the way he dictated the game with his fists and physical play. Now, his career has hit an all-time low.
Brashear appeared in over 1,000 NHL games with 5 separate teams, and racked up an insane 2,634 penalty minutes. He was a known fighter than had major bouts while taking on legends such as Jordan Shelly, Eric Godard, Wade Belak, Georges Laraques and Tie Domi.

Now that his playing career is done and retired 14 years ago, he now has taken a job at his local Nissan dealership where a Facebook post welcomed him to the sales team. It is unclear if the the reason for getting the job is a means of making extra money, or to stay busy in retirement.
The NHL has come under fire over the years for not being on par with the three other major sports leagues in terms of salaries and what players can earn, But at the end of the day, the NHL and sports are a business and money does not come from thin air. If the league makes more, players make more, but it is unfortunate that player like Brashear who played over a 1,000 games has to go work in sales.
