Now that his playing career is done and retired 14 years ago, he now has taken a job at his local Nissan dealership where a Facebook post welcomed him to the sales team. It is unclear if the the reason for getting the job is a means of making extra money, or to stay busy in retirement.
The NHL has come under fire over the years for not being on par with the three other major sports leagues in terms of salaries and what players can earn, But at the end of the day, the NHL and sports are a business and money does not come from thin air. If the league makes more, players make more, but it is unfortunate that player like Brashear who played over a 1,000 games has to go work in sales.
