With the Elias Lindholm trade now behind us, who will the Bruins target going into the trade deadline? One rumored player would be Patrick Kane. He would add to an already lethal offense, while not having the pressure of having to carry the team. So many times, in his career, if Kane didn't produce his team suffered. The Bruins have David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, Jake DeBrusk, James van Riemsdyk, and Pavel Zacha. That's plenty of players to do the heavy lifting, Kane could play freer. He would bring a superstar level talent to the Bruins powerplay.
However, a big snag could have just hit in that plan, with Patrick Kane's latest injury. Kane was in the middle of a very successful comeback after hip surgery. He was tearing it up once again with the Detroit Red Wings. The Red Wings were hoping to have Kane back for their final game before All Star Break, however that won't be the case and Kane will miss his 7th straight game and won't see game action until at least after the break. The saving grace is that it seems this injury is not related to his hip, despite being labeled as a lower-body-injury.
