The Boston Bruins have been without their captain Brad Marchand for the beginning of training camp as he has been recovering from three surgeries that he had in the off-season.
The Bruins captain was back on the ice yesterday as he took part in practice with the group of players not playing in the pre season matchup against the Washington Capitals last night.

Marchand took part in practice with a non contact jersey meaning he is not fully recovered just yet but definitely on the right path and hopefully he will be ready for the start of the season.
While Marchand is still not 100% just yet, seeing him back on the ice in a non-contact jersey is certainly encouraging. He will now look to continue his recovery in the right direction.
The expectation is that Marchand will be ready to go by the start of the regular season. With Marchand still being a significant part of the Bruins' roster at this juncture of his career, they are naturally hoping things don't change on that front.
Last season Marchand was a massive force for the Bruins despite being 36 years old as he put up 67 points including 29 goals in 82 games. Playing at a full season that late in his career let alone putting up the points he did is an incredible achievement.
Marchand, 36, appeared in 82 regular-season games last season for the Bruins, recording 29 goals, 38 assists, 67 points, and a plus-2 rating.
