Out of all the players cut by the Bruins, the only one to be placed on waivers was forward Marc McLaughlin who cleared waivers. Insider Elliotte Friedman reported that every single player cut over the last two days that was placed on waivers have cleared and will be headed to the AHL.
McLaughlin signed with the Bruins as a undrafted free agent out of Boston College in 2022 after an incredible senior year in the NCAA putting up 31 points in 33 games for the Eagles.
Since signing with the Bruins, McLaughlin has seen some games in the NHL but he has spent the majority of his time with the Providence Bruins in the AHL, only getting called up for 1 game last season in the NHL.
Fans were not surprised that McLaughlin was cut as the Bruins have very few available roster spots and with his 14 points in 68 games last year in Providence, McLaughlin in simply not there yet.
McLaughlin in already back in Providence as training camp has officially begun and was seen leading the team's stretch prior to practice yesterday with one of the two groups.
