The most recent report indicates that both parties are working on a shorter-term/bridge deal instead of a long term contract as they cannot find common ground on term and AAV.
NHL insiders Pagnotta and Dreger both agree that a deal will get done no matter what, just the intricacies of the deal are going to be a lot different then originally expected.
Dreger pointed to the fact that the Bruins feel there is a substantial risk offering a long term deal even close to what Swayman is asking for as he has not proven himself as the teams #1 goalie who has taken the majority of the workload.
While it is great news that Swayman has been training and attending all of the practices with the Boston Bruins as it shows the relationship between them is not strained, things will change once camp starts. If he is un-signed, he will be ineligible to participate in any team activities and will be considered officially "sitting-out".
Hopefully a deal gets finalized soon as Bruins fans are waiting in anticipation if their beloved team is going to have an elite goalie starting in net once the season starts in October.
