The NHL world is buzzing right now due to the antics of Ottawa Senators Ridley Greig and Morgan Rielly. At the end of game in which the Senators were up 4-3, Greig got free and put a slap shot on the empty net, while only a few feet away from the net, and all alone in the zone. Morgan Rielly took great exception to this breaking of an unwritten rule and proceeded to attack Greig with vicious shots to the back of his head.

Former Bruins Coach Don Cherry, who is never afraid of being in the middle of controversy, agreed with Morgan Rielly's actions:

"I'm glad Rielly was on and I'm glad he did it. I know there's no rule in the book that says, 'Don't do that' but you just don't do that."

"It was a spur of the moment thing that he did. I think he meant to get him on the shoulder, but he got him on the back of the neck."

It seems many NHL players are on Morgan Rielly's side, as what Greig did was a big slap in the face of the Leafs, and they were not going to take that lying down. Morgan Rielly is not a dirty player; he was simply defending the honor of his team and his teammates.
