Former Bruins player is the best free agent still available

The NHL season is right around the corner as training camp is set to begin and most players have signed but it looks like the best player left on the board is a former Bruin.
James van Riemsdyk is still a free agent and while many players have signed PTOs lately such as Kailer Yamomoto and Tyson Barrie.
Now that September is here, several players are starting to sign professional tryout (PTO) agreements. Among the most notable are Tyler Johnson (Boston Bruins), Tyson Barrie (Calgary Flames), Jakub Vrana (Washington Capitals), Tanner Pearson (Vegas Golden Knights), and Calen Addison (Ottawa Senators).
JVR is still on the board and could be a valuable asset to many teams as he did but up 38 points in 71 games last season for the Bruins.
As JVR is now 35 years old it will be a risk for a team to take a chance on him but for the right price it might make sense.
