Injury Update: Bruins offer important update on Marchand's status for season opener
After 3 surgeries this offseason, the Boston Bruins have provided important insight on his ability to play in this year's season opener.
It came to a shock to many fans that their captain had not 1, not 2, but 3 surgeries this offseason to repair nagging pains he sustained at the end of the season.
With out being able to train and skate normally, there were some question marks about his ability to play at a high level this season and if he will be in the lineup when the season commences in October.
This is what Marchand had to say in the matter
It is great news that the B's will not be without their captain and superstar winger, at least from his own personal assessment.
In 82 games last season, he scored 29 goals and 38 assists for 67 points. Even though these numbers are not wheat they used to be, he said he had 1-2 injuries nagging injuries that affected his play. Now that he is healthy, the Bruins expect him to have a bounce back year.
