During one of the most wild NHL press conferences in recent memory, Bruins President Cam Neely said he'd have «64 million reasons why I'd be playing right now,» sending a subtle jab referencing a major offer turned down by Swayman.
Swayman's agent, Lewis Gross took to social media to defend his client and fully deny that number had never been offered and that his camp would need a few days to think things over.
According to TSN analysis and NHL insider Martin Biron, he states that the situation has gotten way to personal, and he believes even if a number that is right is offered, Swayman still may not sign.
The deadline for Jeremy Swayman to sign a deal and still be allowed to play in the 2024-2025 season is December 1, 2024, and Bruins general manager Don Sweeney has already stated he sees that as the most probable date he will sign the RFA star goalie.
