The Bruins did a ton this off-season but fell short of filling out a top 6 winger spot which Jake DeBrusk left vacant when he signed with the Canucks.
Bruins GM Don Sweeney spoke on the situation saying that they are looking internally to fill out the spot and that young guys like Fabian Lysell and Riley Duran have the opportunity to take that spot.
Sweeney mentioned how the spot will not just be given to anyone and they will need to earn it.
«I would say to [Georgii Merkulov], [Fabian Lysell], or Riley Duran [if you] keep going down the list, just pin your ears back, train your ass off this summer, and come with the intent that there'll be an opportunity here,» Sweeney acknowledged. «If you're the best player, then we find a way to get you in the lineup. You have to you have to sustain it as you're going along. Those guys should have clear intentions to come and find an opportunity to beat somebody out because it'll be there.»
Despite not singing a top 6 winger this summer, the Bruins still have a ton of option to fill this whole.
