The Player Safety Division has issued a five-game suspension to the Maple Leafs' defenseman, Morgan Rielly, following his hit on Greig.

During the game on Saturday between the Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators, a significant event occurred in the game's final moments.

Ridley Greig of the Senators managed to score a slap-shot goal into an empty net from just a short distance away.

Following the score, Rielly landed a dirty hit on Greig, prompting an investigation by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

The session conducted earlier today resulted in a decision.

Rielly is to face a five-game suspension.
